Questions about shares

Who are our registrars, and how do I contact them?

Our registrars are Capita Asset Services.

You can contact them in a number of ways:

How do I check my shareholdings online?

You can check your shareholding details on our shareholder portal at www.kcom-shares.com (opens in new window).

If you’re a new user click on ‘Register’ and follow the instructions (you will need your investor code, which can be found on your share certificate or on a dividend tax voucher).  

How can I get my shareholder information – Notice of Meeting, report and accounts etc?

There are three ways you can choose to receive shareholder information.

Post - all documents will be sent to you through the post.

Online - you receive a letter advising you where to see the information online.

Email - you will be emailed either with the information attached or a link to where you can see the information online.

How do I transfer shares?

You need to complete a stock transfer form. Download the stock transfer form.

I’ve changed address, what do I have to do?

You can change your postal address online using the portal here www.kcom-shares.com (opens in new window). When you’ve logged in, click on 'Manage your account'.

For security reasons, Capita cannot accept an instruction to change your details by email or through a ‘contact us’ form.

I’ve lost my share certificate, how can I get a replacement?

You can call or write to our registrar, Capita. 

If your certificate has been stolen, Capital will need the crime reference number issued by the police.

Capita will send you an indemnity form through the post, which will need to be filled in before they can replace the missing certificate. Depending on the value of the shares, you may need to pay a fee.

It's not possible at the moment to request a letter of indemnity using your Share Portal account or the ‘contact us’ form.

How do I buy or sell my KCOM shares?

You can buy or sell KCOM shares through any share dealing service, such as those provided by stockbrokers, high street banks or online share dealing services.

Online share dealing services

Capita IRG Trustees offers a share dealing service which you can view online. For further information please visit www.capitadeal.com or telephone 0871 664 0446 (calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras. Lines are open 8am - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday, excluding public holidays).

Stocktrade Share Dealing Services

A low cost telephone dealing service has been arranged with Stocktrade that provides a service for buying and selling KCOM shares.

The commission rates charged for the service are 0.5% commission on amounts to £10,000 and 0.2% on any balance over £10,000 (subject to a minimum of £15.)

Please note that these services are provided by third party suppliers and not by KCOM. KCOM Group PLC (the Company) has not endorsed these services and you will need to satisfy yourself as to the terms available. If you take advantage of the service, the Company shall have no liability in respect of it.

Alternatively, contact your bank or stock broker who will also be able to help you in selling your shares.

Does you have a Dividend Reinvestment Programme?

Yes. You’ll need to visit our shareholder portal www.kcom-shares.com

If you're a new user click on 'Register' and follow the instructions (you will need your investor code, which can be found on your share certificate or a dividend tax voucher).  Once you're registered, select "Manage your account" and then "Change your dividend details".

How do I register the death of a shareholder?

If the holding is in the sole name of the deceased our registrar needs:

  • The original or Sealed office copy of the Grant of Probate, original Letter of Administration or original Scottish Confirmation
  • The original share certificate

If you do not have a Grant of Representation, our registrar can offer a Small Estates procedure. Please contact our registrar for further information on:

Our fiscal year runs from 1 April through March 31.

Can I listen to your results presentation with analysts?

Yes, our half yearly prelim and interim presentations are webcast live and replays are available for 12 months after the announcement.
